Rocket Is One with the Universe

Marchwind Blue Monk, CGC, 1995-2008

Our dear dog Rocket, our first dog as a couple, our stubborn, energetic, beautiful Italian Greyhound, was laid to rest in our backyard on December 31st, 2008. He will be remembered fondly by the five remaining in our household, our extended family who knew him well, and our good friends and neighbors.

Here are a few blog posts of the past four years featuring that old hound:

My condolences to you and your family. One thing that helped my Mom when we had to put Chester to sleep (when Brian was two) was to make a memory frame with his collar, a picture of him and a lock of his hair (he was a Shih Tzu so he had more hair). Perhaps that might help your kids? Maybe they could put their awesome art skills to use and draw some pictures to put in the display as well?

What a great idea. AC already drew a picture of the box D brought his body home in and the blanket he was buried in. Her mind...

Hugs, Mary. I'm so sorry. I hope you and the kids are doing okay.

Katie, thanks for your kindness. We are doing a little better each day. We all knew it was the best decision, but it's just hard because we miss the old guy.
